Tap on the main button for every heartbeat or breath and get a frequency result almost immediately. This replaces the slow method of looking at your watch while counting for 30 or 60 seconds.

Simple and straightforward: this app allows you to measure your heart or respiratory rate in just a few seconds. Whether you are a paramedic, nurse or emergency physician, you can use this tool in or out of the hospital

Features:
★ Big buttons and large display, no need to look at your iPhone while using it
★ A timer provides information about how long you have been measuring
★ Visual feedback every time the button is pressed
★ Field tested

Pros and cons of Medirate - Vital Signs Timer app for iPhone and iPad

Medirate - Vital Signs Timer app good for

...nice, clean and working! no bloated beta that promisses to work in a distant future - MediRate does what it says right here, right now! thanks!
Easy to use; my first try I didnt get it right, but my second try I figured out the technique: wait for your heart to finish its beat, then tap the button. Works great! Youll get a good result in ~10 seconds. The phone does the math for you. Easy! Only downside: it doesnt have a way to keep a record of your past heartrate records-- Id like to be able to keep a dated record of my resting hear rate, to show improvement/degrading over time.
I used this today during an out-patient procedure during moderate sedation for a RR. Very useful app!

Some bad moments

Tried it and used a real bpm unit this thing was way off hard to tap at same time as feeling for ur heart beat
Works well for quickly getting your heart rate. Works as advertised.
I like it. It will measure your heartbeat rate and breathing rate.
This is so simple to use & if all you want is your breathing rate or heart rate, this does the trick. You can get either the average over a minute or just wait a few seconds if you dont need the average value.
I purchased this app this morning and just deleted it. Does not work as advertised. You can get better results using a timer. Dont waste your money on this. I am glad I only wasted 99 cents. Disappointing app! I wanted to rate it as zero but not able to.
Thanks -great idea and just what I needed to track fetal heart rate with my stethoscope - i like the tapping instead of counting.
